যত কম বয়সে প্রযুক্তি, ক্ষতি তত বেশি
দ্য অ্যামেরিকান অ্যাকাডেমি অফ পেডিয়াট্রিক্স ও ক্যানাডিয়ান সোসাইটি অফ পেডিয়াট্রিক্সের বিজ্ঞানীরা সম্প্রতি কোন বয়সে শিশুকে কতটুকু প্রযুক্তির সংস্পর্শে নেয়া উচিত, সে সম্পর্কে পরিষ্কার একটা ধারণা দিয়েছেন৷ তাঁরা বলেছেন, দু বছরের আগে শিশুদের সব গ্যাজেট থেকে দূরে রাখাই উচিত৷ ওই বয়সে ইন্টারনেট, আইপ্যাড বা টেলিভিশনে অভ্যস্ত হলে শিশু স্বভাবে অস্থির হয়, অনেক ক্ষেত্রে কানে কম শোনে৷
কোন বয়সে কতটুকু প্রযুক্তি
বিজ্ঞানীদের মতে, দু বছরের পর অল্প অল্প করে শুরু করলেও ৩ থেকে ৫ বছর বয়সিদের কখনো দিনে ১ ঘণ্টার বেশি মোবাইল, টেলিভিশন, আইপ্যাড, ল্যাপটপ, টেলিভিশন ইত্যাদির সংস্পর্শে থাকা ঠিক নয়৷ ৬ থেকে ১৮ বছর বয়সিরা দিনে সর্বোচ্চ ২ ঘণ্টা সেই জিনিসগুলোর কাছাকাছি গেলে ক্ষতি এড়াতে পারবে৷
এসবে অভ্যস্ত হলে অনেক শিশু অস্বাভাবিক মোটা হয়ে যায়৷ এর নানা রকমের ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব জীবনের ওপরও পড়ে৷ ডায়াবেটিস কিংবা হৃদরোগের ও বেড়ে যায় তাদের৷
উগ্রতা,আগ্রাসন এবং ....
গ্যাজেট ব্যবহার করার কারণে শিশুরা খুব তাড়াতাড়ি যৌনতা, সন্ত্রাস ইত্যাদি সম্পর্কে ধারণা পায়৷ ফলে অনেক শিশু খুব আগ্রাসী স্বভাবের হয়৷ কিছু শিশু বড় হয়ে নানা কিছুতে জড়িয়েও যায় ভালো-মন্দ না বুঝে৷
মানসিক অসুস্থতা
গ্যাজেট বেশি ব্যবহার করার ফলে খুব কম বয়সেই অনেকে মানসিক অবসাদে ভুগতে শুরু করে৷ তাতে এক সময় মানসিকভাবে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়ার ঝুঁকিও থাকে৷ ক্যানাডায় এ সমস্যা বেশ প্রকট হতে শুরু করেছে৷ সেখানে ছয় জন শিশুর মধ্যে অন্তত একজনকে বেশি গেজেট ব্যবহার করার ফলে মানসিক স্বাভাবিকতা ফিরে পেতে নিয়মিত ওষুধ খেতে হচ্ছে৷
লেখাপড়ায় পিছিয়ে পড়ার আশঙ্কা
ব্যতিক্রম সব কিছুতেই হয়৷ তাই খুঁজলে এমন কিছু শিশু নিশ্চয়ই পাবেন যারা কম বয়সেই মোবাইল নিয়ে খেলেছে, তা দেখে বাবা তাকে নতুন মোবাইল কিনে দিয়েছেন এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত সেই শিশু সুস্থ, মেধাবী হিসেবেই বড় হয়েছে৷ তবে উল্টো দৃষ্টান্তও অনেক৷ ১২ বছরের আগে মোবাইল জাতীয় উপকরণে অভ্যস্ত হওয়া শিশুর লেখাপড়ায় উন্নতি খুব ধীর গতিতে হয়৷ দেখা গেছে, সেরকম শিশুদের এক তৃতীয়াংশই শিক্ষাজীবনে খুব সমস্যায় পড়ে৷
ঘুম কম হওয়া
বিজ্ঞানীরা দেখেছেন, শতকরা ৬০ ভাগ শিশুর বাবা মা-ই আজকাল কম বয়সি সন্তানের হাতে মোবাইল বা অন্য গ্যাজেট তুলে দেন৷ শতকরা ৭৫ ভাগ শিশুর বাবা-মা তারপর আর খবরই নেন না তাঁদের সন্তান রাতে কখন ঘুমায়৷ বাবা-মায়ের অজান্তেই অনিদ্রাজনিত অসুখ ডেকে আনে সন্তান৷
